Harry Styles, the ex-One Direction heartthrob, is taking over charts with his new album Fine Line, which debuted last December. Since his first self-titled album, Harry Styles, he has become more open and personal with his music, letting fans experience everything through his lyrics. The 12-track album was inspired by various different artists.

His songs Watermelon Sugar, Adore You, Golden, and Lights Up are the most upbeat songs with a pop vibe. Then, Sunflower, Vol 2, Canyon Moon, To Be So Lonely, and Treat People With Kindness have more of a ‘70s rock vibe reminiscent of a Beatles song. Meanwhile, She, Cherry, Falling, and Fine Line are sad songs that show the raw emotions that he experienced . In a review of the album, Rolling Stone Magazine said, “The English pop star makes retro-rock with a sensitive touch on his excellent second album.”

On the subject of the album, Independent UK said, “Fine Line expands on the languorous guitar rock that has been Styles’ currency since he left One Direction, with copious charm and flickers of ingenuity.”

The reason I chose this specific album was because it’s an outstanding album of this generation and is very different from the music today. I was a big One Direction fan when I was younger and a huge fan of Harry Styles, so seeing him grow as a person and as an artist was the most beautiful thing to see. Styles has been continuously growing throughout his solo career and is one of the greatest artist in our generation.
