If you want to make a good impression, stand out!

As spring approaches, many teenagers are interested in finding a summer job. Some are interested in jobs that tie into their future career decisions while others just want to make money. Either way, job applicants need to consider their appearance so that they can stand out from others. Where someone wants to work determines what he or she should wear to an interview. Maurice Austin said, “I would wear khakis and a nice button up shirt” to a fast food location, but in an office he may choose to wear a suit with some nice dress shoes. Taviyah Simpson also believed that clothes are important. “To a fast food interview, I may wear some pants but nothing too fancy,” she said. To an internship she may wear a nice blazer and white top, maybe dressy pants

Dressing accordingly for the interview comes with a lot of advantages in the workplace. The outfit chosen causes the hiring managers perception of the applicant to be positive. When the appropriate outfit is chosen, the applicant comes off as responsible and the look means that he or she can carry himself or herself well. In the summer, it does get very hot and but job applicants may not want to wear something too revealing. Nice pants always go far and a nice blouse or polo shirt can improve the appearance at an interview, providing a look that is both comfortable and classy! As crazy as it sounds, potential job seekers can get specific wardrobe updates for as little as $30. They might shop at a nice boutique, a thrift store, his or her own closet, or even Wal-Mart. Getting the job this summer is fairly easy, but the proper fashion choice will make it even more likely.
