On February 6, Varsity boys faced a challenging opponent, JV scored a win..

Var:3-1 Win (5-1-1) 1st in league with 3 games left
Jv: 1-0 Win (2-3-2)
Varsity: The boys were ready Tuesday, February 4,  and wanted that win! Armijo dominated on the field and got their first goal in at five minutes with a header by Brandon Ascher who got the assist from a beautiful corner by Andy Rodríguez. Next goal was by Diego Torres 15 minutes later, with a perfect assist from Leo Urzua. Wood was then able to sneak through the Armijo defense to sink a lower corner shot, leaving the score at 2-1 for half.
Boys were ready to go at half with a some good pep talks from teammates. Armijo came in strong but unfortunately let Wood get to them and got a red card. Being down a player did not stop the Royals from controlling that ball and they were able to get a final goal in with another header by Ascher.
Armijo managed to snag another red card due to responding to opponent fan noise but held down the 3-1 win with only nine on field.
“So proud of them tonight, even with the red cards,” said Coach Megan Flores. “They played strong and got the first game played win over wood in league. We will have to adjust things for Thursday’s (February 6) game but I know if we come out strong like we did last night, we will see great things from these boys.”
JV: It was a strong game with a lot of battles back and forth. Boys held them at 0-0 for the entire first half but came back stronger for the second. They managed to secure a pk in the last 10 minutes and Captain Alonzo Martin was able to sink it in to the bottom corner.
JV showed up to win on February 4 and both Coach Christian and Coach Flores were extremely proud of what they brought to the game to get that well-earned win.
Boys’ Soccer takes on Rodriguez High School on Thursday, February 6 at their home field.
