Black Student Union (BSU) is about learning, having important discussions, and creativity.  BSU was started to help educate and empower people on the culture and history of African-Americans. This year’s BSU started right after the club fair in the fall, but it has been a club on campus for many years. “When I noticed the Black Student Union stand at the past Club Fair, I was interested in learning more about culture. I wanted to have people to talk to about important subjects within my culture,” said Aamari Bedford. “It was also a great opportunity for me to meet new people and make new bonds with other people of color.”

“The Black Student Union plans to host their first annual C.O.L.O.R. ceremony soon,” said Bedford. C.O.L.O.R. stands for Celebrating Our Legacy Of Rhythm. Try-outs in Rap, Poetry, Dance, Paintings and other creative endeavors were scheduled for January 24. Any students can join. BSU meets in room G-3 on Fridays at lunch.
