Community Holiday Review

“The joyous smiles from the kids playing the games and seeing Santa really was the best part of the night,” said Naylea Navarro about the Community Holiday hosted at Armijo High School on December 20.
The party was a joy for all who came, kids and adults alike. There were a wide range of activities to keep people interested throughout the night!, including indoor sled racing where the kids were pulled back and forth on carts with wheels, a fun spin on a winter sport, considering California’s weather.
There were also help from Santa’s elves, who helped kids pick out their unique elf names and then decorate Christmas cookies in shapes of trees and snowflakes, adding different icing colors and sprinkles.
Savannah Gutierrez, one of the visiting children, said, “My favorite part of the night has been decorating Christmas cookies, but I’m really excited to meet Santa and open presents!”
The gym was decorated beautifully, bringing out the Christmas cheer everyone was looking for at the event. Santa eventually made his appearance, exciting every kid in the building, giving presents and making their whole night. At the end of the night it was obvious that the Community Holiday was a hit!
