Wrestling has defined Marco’s high school experience

Marco Correa has been wrestling for four years. He chose wrestling as a sport because all of his friends convinced him to try and he found that he liked the sport. Correa has found that wrestling actually helps him with jujitsu, another sport that he is interested in. He also said he learned a lot with wrestling that he can also use in the future.

The best parts about wrestling at Armijo, according to Correa, are the coaches and the teammates, although many of them have not gone the distance. It’s not all good, though. When Correa makes a mistake in a meet or doesn’t make weight, it can be disappointing. He also misses spending time with his teammates who have gone on to pursue other interests. The new teammates are okay, but it can be challenging serving as captain in charge of people he has not known for long. One of the biggest challenges in that role is getting everyone ready by a specific time.

Although he shares a name with his coach, Coach Cesar Correa, there is no family connection. He is grateful for Coach Correa and Coach Brown, who have made him understand more about wrestling. They both have different styles and he has learned a lot. One of Correa’s most embarrassing moments was when he thought about what it would look like if he shaved my chest. He did so and, at first, didn’t think anyone would notice. He went to get dressed and Coach Correa pointed out and yelled, “Everybody, look what Marco did to his chest!” How embarrassing! Correa said that he wanted to thank the coaches for that fun four years with wrestling. “It has been a great time,” he said.
