We all know a new decade is coming, which means a start for a new you and a new outlook on life. That, or the more likely answer of just sulking in your bed waiting for new movies, TV shows, music and, in this article’s case, video games!

Obviously, every new year there are new games to look forward to, but 2020 seems like an especially promising year for gamers. Always remember, especially when you preorder games, that even if a game looks like the best thing to grace this forsaken earth we live in, there is a chance the game will not deliver on its promises. Now let’s look into the new year for all the new games coming out in 2020!

Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon is the seventh game in the Yakuza series of games (seventeenth counting all the spinoffs and the rereleases). Despite being the next installment in action roll- playing game (RPG) series, Like a Dragon does away with the action part and plays more like the Dragon Quest series. It follows entirely different characters since the last game was the end of the main story, making this a new experience even for veterans of the Yakuza series. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is one of the first games that will be coming out in 2020. It follows the complete story of Dragon Ball Z (DBZ), with some new things to keep this game interesting and to differentiate it from all the other DBZ games. The game would play like Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse, as in it would be a 3D brawler where specific moves would be mapped to each of the four face buttons. Get this game if you love Dragon Ball Z and you don’t mind fighting Raditz for the hundredth time.

Final Fantasy 7:Remake is exactly what you think it is, the highly anticipated remake of (just the first section) One of the greatest RPG of time. Instead of being turn-based like the original the remake goes for a more action RPG approach like the later games. Other than that and some reimagined designs, the game would follow all of the Midgar parts of the game, meaning if you want to play through the other parts you have to wait till they’re finished which, judging by how long this game took to make, you should probably check out some other games coming out in the year. Animal Crossing New Horizons is the long awaited next mainline game in the Animal Crossing series! Let me just say that if you have a switch and a lot of time and patience on your hands and you love cute characters, this game would be perfect for you.

Doom Eternal is the sequel to the 2016 Doom, and it’s as crazy and hardcore as ever! Be warned that this game is only for the most mature of gamer’s, as in play it next to your parents and get ready for an hour long lecture and a lifetime of parental paranoia. And that’s not me implying play it secretly at a friend’s house and/or in a FoodMax dumpster, because this game is, as I said, only for adult (i.e. anyone who’s over 18). Enough of that, now let’s talk about the actual game. The game take’s place on literal “Hell on Earth” where demons run wild and you must destroy them all as Doom Slayer! Use a plethora of crazy weapons at your disposal while mowing down demon scum!
