Dodgeball Tournament Preview

Before Thanksgiving break, students had the opportunity to sign-up for Armijo’s Dodgeball Tournament which will be held from Monday – Thursday, December 9 – 12.
The sign-ups continue on December 2, 4, and 6 (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).
Each team can have up to eight players, but only six can be on the court at a time.
Every grade is welcomed to play in the tournament. All participants, however, must fill out a participation form and a waiver to be able to play in the tournament.
While only six players can be on the court at a time during the preliminary games, all eight players will be able to play for the final game. Mylo Cowart and Michael Reese are planning to earn back-to-back championships this year. “I had a fun experience playing with people I don’t know,” said Cowart.
The rules of the game are simple.
● Players should respect the refs! These are volunteers and all calls are final.
● Headshots NOT allowed, and will not eliminate a player.
● If a foot crosses out of bounds, the player is out, including the no man’s zone in
the center of the court.
● Caught ball brings a teammate back in, and person who threw the ball is out
● In championship, hoops will be lowered. If a player make a ball through the hoop,
he or she can take anyone out from the other team
● There is a 4-minute time limit per game. After 4-minutes, the team with the most
players wins. If there is a tie, there will be a one-on-one between one player of
each team who was still in when time was called.
The team captains will attend a meeting on December 6 to get more details.
