For Emmett, the first time running is the charm.

Emmett Espino has spent the last four years at Armijo, and he has been in the Leadership program for since his sophomore year. Last spring he decided to run for Associated Student Body (ASB) Vice President, “This is my first year running for ASB officer and my first year ever taking office in the leadership program,” he said. “What gradually motivated me to run for officer was someone who was then an officer hyped me up into wanting to see the differences and impacts I can actually make in people and on campus.”

Not only does Espino aim to play a role in the school, he also aims to play a role in people’s life and have a positive impact on them. “I love making kids smile. Simply learning their names is what creates a connection, a strong connection in fact, that they may not be receiving at home,” said Espino. “So, I really try my best to go out there and spread out the happiness and positivity I can provide for others.
