Orange you glad it’s autumn?

The cast of the fall play has been chosen and they will be performing a play called “Last Day of School” in December.

Although Armijo had been producing plays every fall and spring, this one in particular is something new. All seventeen people who auditioned – freshmen through seniors – were accepted as cast members. About four of the members are veterans from last year’s production to audition once more.

“The Last Day of School” was written by Ian McWethy and is a dramedy (a combination between comedy and drama). It’s about some high school seniors on the last day of school doing what they were afraid to do during their time in high school. Some scenes are romantic and others are about getting revenge or being brave.

This production is going to be held in room T2, called the “Black Box Theater,” for the first two weekends in December, at 7:00 pm. Tickets will go on sale in November.

“I’m getting really excited about it,” said Ms. Sheena Beeson, drama teacher and producer of the play. “The reason I chose this play is because every couple or few years I try to pick a play where I get to work more one on one with the actors. Because this play is a bunch of two-person scenes, rehearsals will just be me and two people, instead of a large group, and I get to spend more time with them, working on character development, emotions and other stuff like that.”

This play goes into the behavior of high school stories, but it may be something that we haven’t seen before.
