College Focus: Where to go to be a military star

The United States Military Academy is known by many names and sometimes it is as simple as “The Academy.” This school is a four-year academy in West Point, New York, designed to train future soldiers educationally as well as physically.

The Academy has over 4,000 cadets and is just below Ivy-League school ranking. The acceptance rate there is only 10%. The average GPA requirement is a 3.73, but students can excuse a lower GPA with International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced Placement (AP) classes.

West Point is one of the most competitive schools in the United States and chooses the best students. Even with such high standards, the graduation rate is about 84%. Also, as a bonus for doing so much for and within the school, West Point is fully funded and students who manage to get in accepted also get a yearly stipend of $10,000.

An interesting fact about West Point: According to the Honor Code, cadets are not allowed to get married while attending West Point, and actually have to wait 90 days after graduation.

Lastly, their mascot is the Army Mules, so could you possibly be an Army Mule?
