Maria Lageman is staying in California this school year, but her home country is Brazil.

“I am a senior and can’t wait to graduate so I can begin my successful future,” she said.

She moved to Fairfield in and plans to continue living in the United States after high school and majoring in the medical field. She’s not quite sure about a specific job but she knows for sure she wants to save lives.

Lageman is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. “The only thing I miss about it is the food and the soccer games.” She said. She doesn’t plan to visit there for now, but she did say that she would like to some day, even though she does like her life in the United States is better.

While she comes from a country that speaks Portuguese, Lageman is learning English so she can communicate better with her peers.
