Hundreds of students will be celebrating graduation from Armijo High School on Thursday, June 6. They’ve worked hard to reach this goal. Madison Blankenship, however, has an extra reason to celebrate that day. She will be turning 18 the same day that she graduates.

While it may seem exciting to turn legal (for some things) on the same day as graduation, Blankenship isn’t very excited about it. “I have to celebrate both together,” she said. Despite that, she said that she wouldn’t want to change the date. She was also reluctant to be featured in The Armijo Signal.

After graduation, Blankenship plans to go to Solano to study cosmetology. Her dual ceremony will be important, but she is mostly focused on the future.
