Ahiezer has his eyes on the prize – a useful high school diploma to take him to the next level.

When a student starts coming to Armijo as a freshman, like Ahiezer Lopez Gutierrez did, it is easy to be involved, but it is not as easy to leave. “I’m going to miss all the good times with friends,” Lopez said. “My favorite moments about Armijo was going to the sports events with my friends.”

He would encourage others to create great memories, and had some smart advice to those who are in the process of doing so. “Be single, stay out of trouble, and just enjoy the four years,” he said. It’s not always easy, and if Lopez could make it better, he said that he would want to see the staff become more involved with the students.

June may seem to be a long time off, but Lopez already has plans for the future. “I plan to go to UTI (Universal Technical Institute). I want to be a mechanic,” he said. His favorite hobbies include cars, naturally, and cooking.

Lopez has the opportunity to serve as a role model for his younger brother, Jonathan, who is 11, a future Armijo student, perhaps.
