Video Game Review: Shockingly Fun

Bioshock review brings the past into the future.

With Bioshock Infinite being released on March 2013, many had probably forgotten where it all started, even more six years later. Well, it all started with a plane crash that leads you to an underwater city. For me it was one of the most beautiful scenes a video game can offer, but all that ended once I found myself in the city.

The game is very dark so surprises are inevitable. Once you start to walk around in the view or first person, you begin to act paranoid because you have no idea what’s going to attack next.

The game has many special things going on, but one of the main ones is the atom that gives powers, such as electricity, fire, ice, wind and tornadoes. These things come with special powers and incredible weapons like shotguns, machine guns, pistols, grenade launchers, flame/nitrogen shooters and many more.

The game tests your abilities to listen to directions and pay attention.  There are many ways to earn money in the game so that you can buy ammo, health items, and TVE (source of power). In the game you are never done exploring for items to collect and diaries to listen to.

The game is most recognized for the Big Daddies with their Sisters. Facing them is a pain but, once you get the hang of it, you enjoy the game even more. Once you kill Big Daddy you have to choose to save or kill the little Sisters for Adam. Neither choice will affect the game, only your own conscious.

The storyline is one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen, but the final mission was a typical beat-the-final-boss type. I enjoyed it very much. Bioshock has incredible graphics and missions, and it’s a game for both adventure and shooters.
