Club Focus: Robotics

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the Armijo Robotics team this past couple of weeks. For those who do not know Armijo Robotics has multiple teams that meet weekly to design, test, and create new robots who perform tasks such as moving objects over obstacles. While it may sound easy, it definitely is a lot harder than you think. You have to work well as team using skills such as communication. Not only this but the teams have to work quickly and efficiently! You must be ready to not give up as there is a lot of trial and error in the process!

You may be wondering what are the requirements to partake in the club? Well, you do not have to be advanced to take part in the club. The skill level of Robotics club members varies from advanced to beginners. This means that all are welcome!

Besides the inclusivity, the club has traveled far and wide! The members of the Armijo Robotics team competed in partnership with Grange Middle School internationally in Kentucky against teams from China, Mexico, Germany, France, South Africa, and more at VEX Worlds, the final competition of the season in the year 2017. The students have done amazing things at these competitions! Ms. Diane Halsey, the Robotics instructor, exclaimed, “We made it to semifinals, we had a great robot and most awesome students,” in regard to the recent competition at Davis.

If you are interested in the STEM field or interested in traveling please speak to Mr. Smith or Ms. Halsey for more information! The Armijo Signal wishes the Robotics team luck in their upcoming competitions.
