Eight Things You Might Not Know about ASB Student Relations Officer Aaron Roth
- I chose to go into Student Government because it was something that my sister did before me. She was the vice president for her freshman and sophomore classes and told me I should go into it when I got to high school. I ran for office freshman year but didn’t win a position until sophomore year. That was when I had stepped my campaigning up from just word of mouth to posters, flyers, and class announcements.
- The reality of being an Associated Student Body (ASB) officer is that most of us do the same thing, despite our specific titles. In our roles we plan events the school has such as the Club Fair while simultaneously trying to teach others leadership qualities. My official ASB title is Student Relations.
- At the moment I’m undecided about continuing Student Government in college.
- In addition to serving in Student Government, I ran Cross Country this year. I also enjoy going to Ping Pong Club meetings. That sport is probably my biggest hobby.
- If someone were interested in running for a position in Student Government, I would say to go for it. It gives you a platform to introduce new and interesting ideas to campus as well as change things you want to see.
- I have two brothers and one sister. My brother Julian is 29, my brother Justin is 27, and my sister Elena is 21. I would say that they had a big impact on me growing up and were my role models but along with them I would say my parents.
- If I could change one thing at Armijo I would remodel the bathrooms. It may seem insignificant but the state of a bathroom can say a lot about the infrastructure and state of a place.
- When I graduate I plan on majoring in either Biology or Chemistry and going into the medical field. My mom is Contra Costa’s Director of Health and has had me involved with healthcare for a long time so I would like to do something in that field.
