Sometimes the best thing to bring to a new place is a friend. For twins Janet and Yasmin Fierros Duran, they have taken it one step further and brought a sister.

The girls are alike in many ways both from Michoacán, Mexico. They both like to play basketball with their cousins. They both hope to work and continue studying when they graduate from Armijo. For fun, they both like to play on their cell phones or be gaming on their X-Box.

While they are far away from their hometown, they are still close to each other. That may be the best thing about having a sibling on campus. “We support each other,” Janet said.

They are not completely alone. Their family also includes two brothers (ages 20 and 12) and another sisters (age 18). When asked what they think the other would say about her, each sister felt that it would be something like, “I’m your best friend because we get along very well.”
