Senior spotlight: Friends and a future

Jahrizna Mentan Alvarez has accomplished a lot through her three and a half years at Armijo including joining Multimedia Academy, which has contributed to her goals  after graduating Armijo High.

Alvarez enjoys reading, writing and multimedia. Her role model is one of her teachers, because she wanted to be as kind as she is, and Cat Cora because “She is pretty a boss lady chef.”

Something she is going to miss the most about Armijo is her teachers, but her favorite memory is joining the Multimedia Academy . Alvarez said that she would miss the most is “just everyone, seeing everyone’s faces, everyone is so different and so amazing and you just fall in love with everyone.”

Even though Alvarez might have more interest in Armijo and its students, she would change how Armijo is strict with absences and prom. Because of those restrictions, there are a number of seniors not eligible to go to prom.

Her advice to all students is to just relax and enjoy every moment of their life. “Don’t spend time disliking people just because they dislike you, and at the end you are not going to remember them and they are not going to remember you. So you just put a lot of time hating someone when you are not going to remember at the end,” Alvarez said.
